Sugar Loaf (A B M)
Ready In: 15 mins
Yields: 1 1/2 pound loaf
Ingredients
- 9 ounces warm water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 1⁄2 tablespoons powdered milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups unbleached white flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1⁄2 cup sugar cube (read **WARNING** carefully)
- 1⁄2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Directions
- Add the ingredients (EXCEPT for the sugar cubes and cinnamon) into your bread machine according to manufacturer's directions.
- In the meantime, in a clean and dry plastic bag combine the sugar cubes and ground cinnamon. Using the flat side of a mallet, crush the sugar cube mixture to a coarse powder. **WARNING**: You want the sugar cubes to be no larger than 1/16" in diameter or you could run the risk of jamming the bread machine mechanism if the chunks are too big.
- Add the crushed sugar mixture at the start of the fruit/nut beep cycle OR towards the end of the mixing cycle.
- Watch the bread machine {{closely}}. Once you pour in the crushed sugar cubes, be certain the sugar mixture incorporates well into the dough so you don't run the risk of jamming the beater.
- Baking time varies.
