String Beans With Thyme and Sage

Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh string bean, stemmed and cut in half
- 2 slices bacon, julienned
- 1 small onion, chopped fine
- 2 large garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3⁄4 teaspoon ground sage
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt and pepper
- water
Directions
- Heat pan to medium and add butter, olive oil, bacon onions and garlic.
- Saute for about 3-4 minutes and then add string beans.
- Saute on med high heat for about 3 minutes.
- Then add sage, thyme, salt and pepper. Keep stirring for one minute.
- Add some water, about a few spoons and stir another minute.
- Then reduce flame to low and cook til done, about 3 minutes.
- The cooking time is up to you. I prefer a bit of bite to my beans, so they are done within 7-8 minutes.
