Strawberry Sauce

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 1 pint strawberry, hulled
- 1⁄3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions
- In a medium sized bowl, cut into chunks about 1/3 of the berries, reserve these for later.
- Leave the other 2/3's whole or cut up, whichever you prefer. Place them in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add the sugar and simmer until thick, about 10 minutes.
- Remove the sauce from heat and set on counter to cool about 5 minutes, stir in the vanilla.
- Place the cooked berry sauce in the blender and puree.
- Combine the berry puree with the reserved, uncooked berries.
- Store in covered container in the refrigerator.
