Strawberry Sauce

Excellent sauce for angel food cake, pound cake, ice cream, or trifle. Super flavor and super easy to make. Show more

  1. In a medium sized bowl, cut into chunks about 1/3 of the berries, reserve these for later.
  2. Leave the other 2/3's whole or cut up, whichever you prefer. Place them in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add the sugar and simmer until thick, about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the sauce from heat and set on counter to cool about 5 minutes, stir in the vanilla.
  4. Place the cooked berry sauce in the blender and puree.
  5. Combine the berry puree with the reserved, uncooked berries.
  6. Store in covered container in the refrigerator.
