Spicy Sausage Gravy & Biscuits

Absolutely delicious and decadent! Found this recipe from a bed and breakfast, spiced it up and it is now a staple for Christmas morning in my house. If spicy is not your thing, easy to tame down and still creamy and delicious. Show more

Serves: 4-6

Yields: 3 1/2 cups gravy

Ingredients

  • 1  lb  spicy pork sausage (buy in links from Pubilx and cut out of casing)
  • 10 34 ounces  condensed cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom)
  • 1  cup milk (use can from soup)
  • 12 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 14 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 12 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1  cup sour cream
  • 1 (16 1/3ounce) package  grand flaky layers  biscuits

Directions

  1. In heavy skillet, brown and crumble sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain and set aside.
  2. In same skillet, combine soup and milk.
  3. Add mustard, seasoned salt and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
  5. Add sausage and sour cream.
  6. Simmer until heated through - do not boil.
  7. Serve over warm biscuits.
