Spicy Red Cabbage

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 1 head red cabbage, chopped
- 1⁄4 cup butter (or margarine)
- 1⁄2 cup cider vinegar
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon clove (ground)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon allspice
Directions
- Put all ingredients into a large saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Stir, then reduce heat to low.
- Siimmer until desired tenderness is reached. (I like mine softer, so I cook on simmer for an hour or more).
