Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1⁄4 cup vegetable oil or 1⁄4 cup bacon grease, if desired
- 1⁄2 finely chopped onion
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped jalapeno pepper
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
Directions
- Mix all Ingredients together in a bowl till smooth.
- Pour in a greased 8x8 or 9x9 pan (square) at 425°F for 20-25 minutes.
