Spanish Macaroni - Macarrones Espanol

Ingredients
- 2 slices bacon
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 (29 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1⁄2 cup chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Dice bacon and cook in large skillet until crisp.
- Add ground beef and brown well.
- Add remaining ingredients in layers, being sure that macaroni is well dampened.
- Cover with tight-fitting lid; cook over full flame until steam escapes.
- Turn flame to simmer and cook for 30 minutes.
