Spaghetti With White Clam Sauce

Modified from my father's recipe. Quick recipe for mid-week dinner. Easy to modify, fresh basil and thyme are great additions. The red pepper flakes make it too spicy for some, reduce to a small pinch for milder sauce. Doesn't freeze well as onions will become too soft. Show more

Directions

  1. Start water for pasta and add pasta when ready. Meantime saute onion in olive oil until cooked, add basil, oregano, garlic and red pepper flakes and saute combined for several minutes. Then add drained clams and white wine, turn to low and add any additional spices to taste. Keep on low, stirring occasionally until pasta is done.
