Snickerdoodles

Got this from my mothers 1940's recipe collection. She used to make these and they are very, very good.

• Yields: 36-42 cookies

Ingredients

• 1  cup shortening
• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• 2  eggs
• 2 3⁄4 cups flour
• 2  teaspoons cream of tartar
• 1  teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt

• cinnamon dip

• 1  cup sugar
• 1 -2  tablespoon cinnamon

Directions

1. Cream first 3 ingredients together.
2. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
3. Roll into balls and press into sugar.
4. Place on lightly greased cookie pan sugar/cinnamon side up.
5. Bake 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
