Smoky Killer BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1⁄4 cup minced fresh onion
- 1 1⁄2 cups water
- 1⁄2 cup tomato paste
- 1⁄2 cup white vinegar
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 3⁄4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon whiskey
- 1⁄4 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
- 1⁄8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄8 teaspoon paprika
Directions
- Heat oil in a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat.
- Saute the onion for 5 minutes until they start the brown.
- Add the remaining ingredients and bring mixture to boil then reduce heat and simmer for 1 ¼ hours, uncovered, or until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat.
