Easy and versatile. After it's cooked I pull it apart and then separate it, to make 2 different meals by changing up the sauce. I will post the sauce recipes separately. :-) Show more

Directions

  1. Score fat cap on the pork shoulder in a diamond pattern.
  2. Rub the shoulder with the Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke, use enough to cover entire shoulder.
  3. Combine spices and rub on top and sides.
  4. Layer onions on the bottom of the slow cooker and place shoulder on top.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight, not necessary but recommended.
  6. Remove and allow to come to room temperature.
  7. Drizzle honey all over the top, enough to thinly cover.
  8. Cook on low for 6 - 10 hours, it depends on the meat and how you like it.
  9. Pull meat apart with a couple forks and it's ready for 'dressing'.
  10. After that, the possibilities are endless.
  11. I took half the meat and put it back in the slow cooker on warm with 1 cup of bbq sauce and a cup of cola mixed with meat for 30 mins.
  12. Served with baked beans and rice tonight.
