Slow Cooker Carnitas

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 3 -4 lbs pork tenderloin
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
- 4 teaspoons chili powder
- 4 teaspoons dry oregano
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon paprika
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 lime, juice of
- 1 orange, juice of
- 1 tablespoon Mexican hot sauce (Tapatio or similar)
Directions
- combine all ingredients in small bowl until mixed together.
- sear tenderloin in pan over high heat until browned on all sides.
- remove tenderloin from pan and place in slow cooker.
- brush spice mix on all sides of tenderloin, turning as needed.
- cook 7 hrs on low, turning tenderloin every hour or so.
- shred tenderloin with forks and combine with liquid in slow cooker.
