Sirloin Meatloaf With Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup carrot, shredded
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 cup oats
- 3⁄4 cup spaghetti sauce
- 2 egg whites
- 1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat then add the onion and carrot and cook for 4 minutes. Add the garlic and Italian seasoning and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and brown. Remove from the heat and cool, 5 minutes.
- Combine beef, sausage, oats, 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce, egg whites, salt and pepper in a large bowl and mix well. Add the onion mixture and mix well. Shape the meat mixture in a loaf pan. Spread the remaining 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce over the top.
- Bake at 400F for 50-60 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
