Siobhan's Monkey Bars

Ingredients
- 32 light caramels (I bag of Kraft)
- 5 tablespoons cream or 5 tablespoons evaporated milk
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1⁄2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- Melt caramels and cream in a double broiler.
- Combine all other ingredients except nuts, chocolate chips and caramel mixture.
- Divide this in half and pat into a 9x13” pan.
- Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle chips, nuts over now baked first layer.
- Then pour on the melted caramel.
- Sprinkle rest of the oatmeal mixture on top. Bake 15-20 minutes at 350.
