Simple Peppermint Cookies

These cookies are a great holiday treat. You can make this recipe with less fat and calories if you replace the oil with unsweetened applesauce and the sugar with a sugar substitute and still get the same great taste and texture. Show more

Ingredients

  • 2  cups flour
  • 2  teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 cup  oil (or unsweetened applesauce)
  • 34 cup sugar (or 1/ cup substitute such as Splenda)
  • 1 -2  teaspoon  peppermint extract
  • 14 cup water
  • 12 cup  andes  mint chocolate chips (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder and sugar together in a bowl.
  3. Add water oil and gently work together.
  4. Add the peppermint extract, and mint chocolate chips.
  5. Place on lightly sprayed cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for about 12-15 minutes.
  7. or until toothpick comes out clean.
