Sidneys Just South Cold Cherry Soup

  1. Refrigerate Wine and heavy cream for several hours.
  2. Drain Cherries. Place in sauce pan with cinnamon sticks, barely cover with water and add sugar.
  3. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. When cherries have cooled, put in refrigerator for several hours until fully chilled.
  6. Just before serving add wine to cherries and mix thoroughly, then stir in the heavy cream. Remove the cinnamon sticks.
  7. Serve in chilled soup bowls.
