Sidneys Just South Cold Cherry Soup

Ingredients
- 2 (15 ounce) cans sour cherries
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1⁄2 cup red wine
Directions
- Refrigerate Wine and heavy cream for several hours.
- Drain Cherries. Place in sauce pan with cinnamon sticks, barely cover with water and add sugar.
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- When cherries have cooled, put in refrigerator for several hours until fully chilled.
- Just before serving add wine to cherries and mix thoroughly, then stir in the heavy cream. Remove the cinnamon sticks.
- Serve in chilled soup bowls.
