Shortcut Sangria

I found this in Sunset years ago and have made it often for parties. I mix it right it the serving pitcher so it's quick and easy. Use Torani vanilla syrup, or similar brand, the type used to flavor coffee, and a big 1.5 liter jug of the cheapest red wine you can find. Show more

Serves: 10

Yields: 2 1/2 quarts

Ingredients

  • 1  cup  vanilla-flavored syrup
  • 2  oranges, thinly sliced
  • 1  lime, thinly sliced
  • 1  cup  orange juice
  • 2 (750 ml) bottles dry red wine
  •  ice cube

Directions

  1. In a 3 quart or larger pitcher, combine syrup, orange slices, lime slices and orange juice.
  2. Add wine to pitcher; mix and pour into ice-filled glasses.
