Sheila's Macaroni and Cheese

Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
- 2 cups macaroni
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
- 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 2 cups milk, heated
- 1 tablespoon onion, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup breadcrumbs
Directions
- Boil macaroni to desired doneness, app. 7 minute Drain when done.
- While macaroni is cooking, melt butter over low heat, stir in flour.
- Raise heat to allow mixture to bubble (but not brown), stirring constantly.
- Add milk, mustard and onion.
- Stir over medium heat until mixture thickens.
- Add cheese-stir until blended.
- Add drained macaroni.
- Turn into casserole dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Bake in a 400 degree oven for app. 30 minutes.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
