Shawna's Canned Apple Pie Filling

Yields: 5 qts
Ingredients
- 6 quarts peeled sliced apples
- 4 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups water
- 3 teaspoons lemon juice
Directions
- Mix all ingredients except lemon juice in a large stock pot and simmer on medium heat until thick. Stir often!
- Remove from heat and add lemon juice.
- Place into canning jars and process in canner for 20 minutes.
