School's Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
- 1 1⁄8 cups sugar
- 1 1⁄8 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3⁄4 cup peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 dash salt
- 1 2⁄3 cups oatmeal
Frosting
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cream butter and sugars and eggs in mixing bowl. Add peanut butter, vanilla.
- and flour. Blend well, add the soda, salt and the oatmeal. Spread in a 15x10 pan,(cookie sheet) and bake for 20 minute at 350.
- Blend together frosting ingredients, may need to add a little more milk.
- Note: You may want to add chocolate to these bars, if so just sprinkle about a cup of chips onto bars about 2 minutes after taking them out of the oven, wait a couple of minute and spread the chips. Wait until set or refrigerate before frosting.
