Scandinavian Molasses Cream Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 6 tablespoons hot water
- 7 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
FROSTING
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons light cream
- 1⁄4 teaspoon lemon extract
Directions
- preheat oven to 350*.
- mix first nine ingredients together in roder given.
- bake in a greased 9x13" pan --
- bake in a 350* oven for 25 minutes.
- cool and frost with icing made by mixing powdered sugar, cream and lemon extract -- .
