Scandinavian Cabbage

Scandinavian Cabbage. Something a little bit different to do with cabbage.

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients

  •  small head 3 tablespoons unsalted butter salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  •  medium cabbage. 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, salt and pepper, 1/2 pure maple syrup

Directions

  1. Pre heat oven to 350. Cut and core cabbage,( cut into 2" chunks).
  2. Brown cabbage in a skillet with butter until it starts getting golden then remove from heat. Place cabbage in a casserole and add maple syrup, season with salt and pepper, stir and tent with foil. Bake for approx 20 minutes to 30 minutes. This makes quite the unexpected side dish. I have been making this for yrs as well as cooking half of my cabbage rolls this way too.Hope your family enjoys this as much as mine does.
