Scalloped Oysters

Serves: 6-8
Ingredients
- 1 quart of shucked large oyster
- 1⁄4 lb butter
- 1 cup saltine crumbs
- salt and pepper
- cream (optional)
Directions
- Place a layer of oysters in the bottom of a rectangular baking dish, sprinkling salt and pepper and cracker crumbs over lightly. Dot this heavily with butter. Continue the process until the baking dish is full. Sprinkle a few Tablespoons of cream over the dish if you wish (I think this improves) and let the dish set for 30 minutes. Bake in a 400 F oven for about 20 minutes or so until the dish is done.
