Savory Party Bread

This my sister's recipe. We took two loaves of this bread to take to a chille cook out last fall. Before the chilli was served, the bread was gone. I'm guessing on the servings

• Serves: 10

Ingredients

• 1  lb  unsliced round loaf  sourdough bread
• 1  lb monterey jack cheese, sliced
• 1⁄2 cup butter or 1⁄2 cup margarine, melted
• 1⁄2 cup  chopped green onion
• 1 -3  teaspoon  garlic salt (optional)

Directions

1. Cut bread lengthwise without cutting through the bottom crust.
2. Then cut bread crosswise without cutting throught the bottom crust.
3. Insert cheese between cuts.
4. Combine butter, onions and garlic salt.
5. Drizzle over the bread.
6. Wrap in foil.
7. Place on baking sheet.
8. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
9. uncover and bake 10 minutes longer until cheese is melted.
