Savory Crockpot Chicken With Vegetables

Directions

  1. remove skin from thighs and drumsticks, leave the skin on the breasts.
  2. wash and dry the chicken (I use an old towel) and sprinke with salt and pepper.
  3. chop onion, carrot and potato coarsly.
  4. wash the garlic head and trim a bit off the top and bottom without breaking it apart.
  5. heat the oil well and lightly brown the onion on a strong flame in a large shallow skillet or sautage.
  6. add the carrots, and continue to cook until carrots get a bit of a golden edge.
  7. turn on the slow cooker on high and set for 3 hours, then transfer the onions and carrots to it.
  8. sprinke some salt and pepper over the vegetables and give them a stir.
  9. add bayleaves, garlic and tomato.
  10. without washing the pan from the vegetables, brown the chicken pieces in it.
  11. transfer the chicken to the slow cooker.
  12. discard fat from the pan.
  13. pour the wine in the pan while pan is still hot and transfer the the liquid into the slow cooker.
  14. sprinke paprika over chicken.
  15. add boiling water carefully on the side so the paprika doesn't wash off the chicken.
