Sausage Roll

Wonderful breakfast or brunch dish. Can be frozen before baking, just thaw and bake as directed.

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Brown the sausage with the onion until no longer pink.
  3. Drain well.
  4. Pour 2 beaten eggs over the sausage.
  5. Cool.
  6. Roll bread dough out into rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Place sausage mixture on dough, spread evenly.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan over sausage mixture.
  9. Roll the whole concoction up, jelly roll style.
  10. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes.
  11. Beat 1 egg and brush over roll during last 10 minutes of baking.
  12. Serve in approximate one inch wide slices.
