Sauerkraut With Pork and Apples

Ingredients
- 1 quart sauerkraut
- 1⁄2 cup onion, thinly sliced
- 4 slices lean bacon
- 2 cups apples, sliced
- 1 1⁄2 cups white wine
- 1⁄2 cup beef stock
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
Directions
- Cook bacon in skillet until crisp.
- Remove from drippings and set aside.
- Saute the onions in the bacon drippings until lightly browned.
- Stir the sauerkraut into the drippings and onion, and add the apples.
- Pour in the wine and stock and bake for 30 minutes.
- Crumble the bacon and add the kraut with the sugar and celery seed.
- Bake for another half hour and serve.
