Ingredients
- 1 lb dried navy beans
- 4 tablespoons onions, cut fine or minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄3 lb bacon, raw,chopped
- 3⁄8 cup sugar
- 3⁄8 cup light brown sugar
- 3⁄8 teaspoon dried mustard
Directions
- Wash the beans and soak overnight.
- On the stove, simmer 6 cups of water, beans, salt, and onion for 20 minutes.
- Remove from stove and add the remaining ingredients.
- Bake in covered casserole at 325, or in crockpot on low, for 6-8 hours.
- Check periodically and add liquid if necessary.
- These are good served either hot or cold.
