Ingredients
- 1⁄4 cup unsalted butter (1/2 a stick)
- 1 onion, minced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1⁄4 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups whole milk
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and garlic and cook until onions are translucent, 7-10 minutes.
- Put in the grand beef and break into pieces with spoon or spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink.
- Sprinkle in the flour and cook 2 or 3 minutes. Whisk or stir in the Worcestershire, beef broth, and milk slowly. Bring to boil and reduce heat to medium.
- Allow to simmer until desired thickness, 15 to 30 minutes depending on how thick you want it.
- Taste for seasoning and add pepper and salt to suit your taste. Serve over toast.
