Russian Teacakes

I grew up with these being served at teatime. This is the simple way my grandmother made them

  1. Mix thoroughly butter, sugar and vanilla. Work in flour, salt and nuts until dough holds together. Shape into 1 inch balls.
  2. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until set but not brown.
  3. While warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool. Roll in powdered sugar again.
