Roasted Garbanzo Beans

I love roasted garbanzo but they are too hard when I buy them pre-made. I prefer them crispy but not hard and seasoned with all kinds of sprinkles I buy from Trader Joe's like Ranch, Pickled sprinkles, mushroom umami powder, cayenne. Show more

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 Degree (convection if you have it).
  2. Rinse & drain cans of beans throughly.
  3. Cover sheet pan with foil (for ease of cleaning). Pour oil into foil covered pan and put into preheating oven sometimes more than half way to 425 Degree. (You want the oil to be screaming hot when beans are added).
  4. Pour drained beans onto a clean tea towel and roll them around to dry beans off.
  5. Once oven reached temperature, pull pan with hot oil out and pour dried beans into pan.  Shake pan gently to roll beans into the hot oil.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes, turning every 15 minutes or so. Pay attention to how brown the beans get. After 30 minutes or up to 40 minutes depending on how brown you want your beans. I like mine dark brown. Turn oven off and leave pan of beans in oven to cool. After about 10 minutes, remove and season with salt, pepper and anything else you decide. Enjoy.
