Roasted Brussels Sprouts

This is so delicious that it converted a non brussels sprout eater to a faithful one. First you fry up bacon, saute' the sprouts in the fat left over, add a little white wine or chicken broth and reduce down. Then put into a casserole dish with cover with lemon slices and back for delicious tasting brussels sprouts. Show more

  1. Fry up the bacon until crispy. While the bacon is frying, cut ends off the brussels sprouts. Once bacon is finished frying, put on paper towels and add the brussels sprouts. Saute` the brussels sprouts on medium high heat for about 5 to 7 minutes then add White Wine or Chicken Broth. Let simmer on medium heat and reduce. While brussels sprouts are simmering, cut up crispy bacon pieces and add to the brussels sprouts.
  2. Preheat oven to 400. Pour brussels sprouts, sauce, and bacon from fry pan into casserole dish. Slice 2 lemons into round slices and squeeze juice from half a lemon over brussels sprouts Cover casserole dish with lemon slices and bake for 30 minutes in oven.
  3. Let dish sit for about 5 before serving.
