Ingredients
- 3 cups basmati rice, washed and drained
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cardamoms
- 5 tablespoons ghee
- 5 cups coconut milk
- 8 cloves
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- salt
Directions
- Pour ghee in a pan.
- Add cloves, cardamoms and cinnamon.
- Stir-fry for a minute.
- Add onion and saute till transparent and lightly brown for 5 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil.
- Lower flame.
- Cover.
- Cook till all the coconut milk is absorbed by the rice.
- Serve hot with plain low-fat yogurt.
