Ramped up Beer Bread

A take on my favorite beer bread recipe. Adding ramps gives it just a little something extra. You can vary the amount of ramps to suite your taste. My version is pretty mild. Different beers can also give different flavors Show more

Serves: 8-12

Yields: 1 loaf

Ingredients

  • 2 12 cups self rising flour
  • 12  ounces  room temperature beer (I've used Yeungling, Coors Light, and Bud)
  • 3  tablespoons sugar
  • 14 cup  ramps, diced
  • 3  tablespoons butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and prepare 9x5 loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, add flour, sugar, and ramps.
  3. Add beer, and quickly stir ingredients together.
  4. Pour into pan, and then pour the melted butter over the top.
  5. Cook for 45 minutes or until top is golden brown.
