Rachel's Cheesy Pretzels

I found this recipe in an American Girl magazine. My family loves for me to make these. They disappear very quickly.

Ingredients

• 1 1⁄2 cups flour
• 2⁄3 cup milk
• 1⁄2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
• 2  tablespoons  softened butter
• 1  teaspoon baking powder
• 1  teaspoon sugar
• 1  teaspoon salt
• 1  egg, beaten
•  salt

Directions

1. Mix the first seven ingredients to make the dough.
2. Form a large ball and cut into 16 pieces of similar size.
3. Roll each piece in your hands to make a snake.
4. Place on a greased cookie sheet and form into letters or shapes.
5. Brush with egg and sprinkle on salt.
6. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
