Rachael's Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (Or 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup shortening)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 2 eggs
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups wheat flour
- 1 cup oats
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (8 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Cream the butter and sugar. Mix in the eggs, vanilla, hot water, salt, and baking soda. In a blender or food processer, finely chop oats until it becomes a powder. Mix into batter along with all- purpose flour and wheat flour. Mix in bag of chocolate chips with a spoon.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees F. for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Variation: Use any chips, such as peanut butter chips, butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips or cinnamon chips.
