Quick Coffee Cake

A fast and easy way to make a homemade coffee cake that can be serverd right out of the oven. Best of all it, is made from things that most people keep on hand at all times.

Ingredients

• 2  cups flour
• 2  teaspoons baking powder
• 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 cup sugar
• 6  tablespoons shortening
• 1  egg
• 1⁄2 cup milk
• 1  teaspoon vanilla

• Topping

• 1 1⁄2 tablespoons butter or 1 1⁄2 tablespoons margarine, melted
• 1  tablespoon flour
• 4  tablespoons sugar
• 1⁄2 teaspoon sugar

Directions

1. Pre heat oven to 425 degrees. Sift dry ingtedients together. Cut in shortening. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; mix well. Place in 9-inch greased layer cake pan.
2. Topping.
3. Pour melted butter or margarine over top of cake batter. Mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon; sprinkle over butter. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes.
