Prevent Apple Slices from Turning Brown

A tip I read somewhere (?) recently. As I don't like the citrus tang added to some recipes by using lemon juice so this is the method I used on Thanksgiving so that I could chop my apples for the stuffing ahead of time. Also used it for the apples slices that went with the dip. The slices sat on the table for hours and did not change color. Show more

  • 1  apple, sliced (or chopped)
  • 12 cup  carbonated lemon-lime beverage (soda)

Directions

  1. Dip the slices in lemon-lime soda.
