Pompadour Pudding with Chocolate Fluff

A different way to serve homemade pudding

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients

  • Pudding

  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2  tablespoons flour
  • 18 teaspoon salt
  • 2  beaten  egg yolks
  • 1  beaten egg
  • 2  cups milk, scalded
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • Chocolate Fluff

  • 12 cup powdered sugar
  • 2  egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 1  ounce  unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, flour, salt, egg yolks and whole egg.
  2. Slowly add small amount of milk and blend; stir this mixture into the remaining milk.
  3. Cook in double boiler until thick; cool.
  4. Add vanilla, blend well, and pour into serving dish.
  5. Chill at least 1 hour.
  6. Chocolate Fluff: Gradually add powdered sugar to egg whites and beat until sugar is dissolved.
  7. Slowly add melted chocolate, vanilla and salt; blend well.
  8. Chill for at least an hour, then spoon over chilled pudding before serving.
