Pizza Swirl Bread

When sliced you will have a lovely swirl of your favorite pizza ingredients in an easy to carry slice of bread. It is easy to handle, travels well, is great with soup or just alone. Show more

Yields: 1 Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1  pizza dough (homemade, Pizza Dough - Whole Wheat is a nice whole wheat one or your favorite or, if you must store bought)
  •  all-purpose flour
  • 3  tablespoons  pizza sauce (optional)
  • 14 lb  pepperoni, sliced
  • 14 lb ham, sliced (or Canadian bacon or even cooked Italian sausage)
  • 12 lb mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 14 cup  roasted red pepper, diced (or tomatoes ore onions or mushrooms or any veggie you like in pizza)
  •  fresh basil, torn

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Stretch out pizza dough on a floured surface into a nice large rectangle.
  3. If you are using sauce, spread a very thin layer on the dough.
  4. Layer pepperoni, mozzarella, ham or your choice, roasted red pepper or your choice and fresh basil.
  5. Roll the dough up into one log. Press seam together well.
  6. Transfer onto a baking sheet with the seam down. I use silpat on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake 25-35 minutes, until the top begins to brown.
  8. Slice and serve.
