Phaldari Phirni

Ingredients
- 1 liter milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon green cardamoms, powdered
- 150 g rice, mixed with water below into 1 cup paste
- 150 g water
- 100 g sugar
- 2 teaspoons saffron, dissolved in water
- 3 -4 strawberries, chopped into small pieces
- 1 strawberry, chopped in the shape of a fan,to garnish
Directions
- Firstly, prepare the rice paste in a mixie by grinding together 150gms rice and 150 gms.
- water.
- Keep aside.
- Bring milk to a boil.
- Add powdered green cardamom and stir well.
- Add rice paste, sugar and saffron that has been dissolved in water.
- Stir well.
- Cook till the sugar is dissolved and the rice is cooked.
- Pass through a sieve into another bowl.
- Mix well and cool.
- Keep aside.
- Put the chopped strawberries in a bowl (traditionally, in India, earthen"sakoras" are used).
- Pour the above prepared phirni over these.
- Chill the phirni in order to allow it to set.
- Chop a strawberry in the shape of a fan and garnish the chilled and set phirni with this.
- Serve chilled.
