Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups water
- 1⁄3 cup instant milk
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1 tablespoon flax seed
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons oat bran
- 2 tablespoons wheat germ
- 1⁄3 cup honey
- 1⁄4 cup vital wheat gluten
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Mix yeast, sugar and 1/4 cup of the water. Let sit til bubbly.
- Add wet ingredients, then dry ingredients. Knead for 15 minutes.
- Let rise for about 2 hours.
- Punch down and form into a loaf. Let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
- Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.
