Penne With Mushroom and Tarragon Cream

Nice, easy pasta dish from Cooking.com. I made this again recently and wasn't able to find fresh tarragon. I used about 1/2 teaspoon dried and it worked.....but I think you get better, fresher flavor with the fresh. Show more

  1. Melt the butter in a frying pan. Add the mushrooms and saute gently for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the tarragon, salt and pepper, cream and lemon zest. Stir over low heat for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the Parmesan cheese and cook gently for 3 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly.
  5. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and stir into the sauce. Serve immediately.
