Pecan Sandies

This is a family recipe. There aren't really any steps, just mix everything together...I guess that's how they used to do it :) The dough will be very oily due to the butter, oil, and pecans. Don't let it get to you, these cookies are very good. Not very friendly to your waste line, obviously... They do cook very fast however, so be sure to watch them! Show more

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Mix first 5 ingredients in large mixing bowl til well blended. Add vanilla.
  3. Add baking soda and cream of tartar. Mix as much flour in with mixer as you can and the rest by hand. Add pecans.
  4. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart.
  5. Bake at 350 for about 5-6 minutes. They cook very fast so be sure that you don't overbake them.
