Pecan Pie Soda

This different soda is a great beverage to serve with your holiday meal. Kids love it!

• Serves: 6
• Yields: 2 liters

Ingredients

• 2 1⁄2 cups water
• 1⁄2 cup  toasted pecans
• 1⁄2 cup maple syrup
• 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
• 1  teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1  teaspoon lemon juice
• 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
• 2  liters soda water

Directions

1. Mix everything but soda water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
2. simmer about 40 minutes until reduced to 3/4 cup syrup.
3. strain and let cool.
4. stir 2 tablespoons syrup into 1 glass of soda water.
