Pear Crisp

Apples can be used in place of the pears. I found this recipe in The Market Basket Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Guide. This is from New York WIC Program Farmers Market Nutrition Program. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping. Show more

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the pears, juice, sugar and cinnamon. Mix well. Put the mixture into a lightly greased 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut the butter into the mixture with 2 knives or a pastry cutter until the mixture is uniformly crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the pear mixture.
  3. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
