Pear & Apple Streusel Pie

I found this recipe in my Country Door catalogue and it looks just delicious to me. I cant wait to try it on a cool Autumn day!! The only change I made was to switch the margarine the recipe called for to butter. Butter is ALWAYS better! Show more

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degree's.
  2. Mix apples and pears with 1/2 cup of the brown sugar, tapioca and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Let stand 15 minutes.
  4. Mix flour and remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar in a medium bowl. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in walnuts;set aside.
  6. Prepare pie crust in 9-inch pie plate as directed on package.
  7. Fill with fruit mixture; top with crumb mixture.
  8. Bake 45 to 50 minutes.
