Peanut Butter & Jam French Toast

Ingredients

  • 12  slices  bread (I use honey whole wheat)
  • 34 cup peanut butter
  • 6  tablespoons  jam (I use strawberry)
  • 3  eggs
  • 34 cup skim milk
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 2  tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Spread peanut butter and jam on 6 separate slices of bread, and form sandwiches.
  2. In mixing bowl, lightly beat eggs; add milk and salt and mix together.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Dip sandwiches in egg mixture, coating well.
  5. Place in skillet and brown both sides.
  6. Serve immediately.
  7. Variation: use waffles instead of bread!
