Peaches 'n' Cream Bars

If you are a peach pie fan, you will love these easy to make bars with a crunchy almond topping.

Yields: 24 bars

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package  refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 (8 ounce) package  softened cream cheese
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 14 teaspoon  almond extract
  • 1 (21 ounce) can  peach pie filling
  • 12 cup all-purpose flour
  • 14 cup  packed brown sugar
  • 3  tablespoons  cold butter
  • 12 cup  sliced almonds

Directions

  1. Unroll crescent dough into one long rectangle, and press onto the bottom and slightly up the sidesof a greased 13x9 inch baking pan.
  2. Seal perforations.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes, and cool completely on a wire rack.
  4. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and extractuntil smooth, and spoon over crust.
  5. Spoon pie filling over cream cheese layer.
  6. In a small bowl, combine flour, and brown sugar. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Stir in almonds, and sprinkle over peach filling.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-28 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  9. Cool 1 hour, on a wire rack, and store in refrigerator.
