Peach Cobbler

I got this recipe from PBS Natalie Dupree cooking show back in the 1980's. It is requested by family and friends when making the dessert for potlucks. I double the cans of peaches and buy them with no added sugar. 1 can sliced peaches in its own juice, 1 cup self-rising flour (I use Martha White), 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk and 1 stick butter, cinnamon. Preheat oven 350*, place baking dish in oven with butter while preheating, drain peaches, mix flour, sugar and milk together with a whisk. Place peaches in the dish with the melted butter, pour batter over peaches and sprinkle top with cinnamon. Bake for 1 hour. Let cool on rack on the counter. I cover with foil after 10 minutes to keep it from drying out. Show more
